Biography
Marianne Anooshian is an Associate Attorney with the Law Offices of Andrew M. Cohen, P.C. Marianne has extensive experience working for several boutique law firms. Prior to working in private practice, Marianne served as an Acting Village Justice for the Incorporated Village of Manorhaven, New York, and as an Associate Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice.
Marianne’s practice is primarily focused on representing families and individuals in the areas of Guardianship and Elder Law, Estate Administration and Estate Planning. She approaches each client matter with compassion and understanding. Marianne strives to ensure that her clients’ interests are protected and that their goals are achieved.
Marianne frequently serves as Court appointed Court Evaluator, Counsel to the Guardian, Attorney for the Alleged Incapacitated Person in guardianship proceedings, and as Trustee of a Supplemental Needs Trust pursuant to Part 36 of the Rules of the Chief Judge of the New York State Unified Court System.
Marianne received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. While in law school, Marianne was an intern with the U.S. Department of Justice, and a summer intern for the Hon. Charles R. Richey, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Marianne received a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University.
Marianne is a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Elder Law and Special Needs Section and Trusts and Estates Law Section. Marianne is also a member of the Nassau County Bar Association’s Elder Law, Social Services and Health Advocacy Committee, and Surrogate’s Court Trusts & Estates Committee.
