Biography
Laura Adler-Greene is an associate with the Law Offices of Andrew M. Cohen practicing in the areas of Children’s Rights, Special Education Law and Guardianship.
She received her Juris Doctorate at Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. Laura is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
Since 2004, Laura has dedicated her career to representing students at school meetings, disciplinary hearings, special education proceedings and appeals. Laura also provides services relative to 17A and Article 81 Guardianship proceedings and as Guardian Ad Litem appointed by the Nassau County and Suffolk County Surrogate’s Court.
Laura was an Adjunct Professor teaching Special Education Law at Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center from 2010-2018.
In March of 2019, Laura published an article in the Touro Law Review entitled “Every Student Succeeds Act: Are Schools Making Sure Every Student Succeeds?” Touro Law Review: Vol.35:No.1, Article 4.
Laura has testified before the New York State Assembly for the Regional Forum on Autism Awareness.
She has appeared as a guest speaker on “Special Needs Long Island” a weekly radio program focused on the issues surrounding Long Island’s Special Education community.
Laura lectures at Bar Association conferences and provides trainings for parents and educators in the areas of Special Education Law and Student Discipline.
